MESQUITE RODEO CAMPAIGN

Our favorite client is anyone who wants to break away from tradition, or at least redefine it, so the Ferrini campaign was a dream. As new sponsors of the Mesquite Rodeo, they wanted to showcase some new edgier designs that might expand their loyal customer base into a more urban market. Since this spot would air alongside content from competing bootmakers, we wanted to make sure they would stand out from anything involving muddy pickup trucks and hands touching stalks of wheat.

We enlisted our friend Isaiah Evans of 40 Acre Mule, as the star of our campaign. With a twist on their song "Sixteen Days," we crafted a tale of a 'Bootless Man’ placed right in between the grit of the country and rowdy downtown nightlife. We shot everything at The Doublewide, a rough but beloved gem in Deep Ellum— which offered up all the texture a lens could want. The result was like running fresh leather through a distortion pedal.
